Summer Reading Schedule

It is that time once again! Here is the schedule for our Summer Reading Program at the Wynnewood Library!

All during the month of June, we will have space-themed activities and workshops for the family to enjoy.

Along with our weekly scheduled events, we will have a few things going on all month long at the library:

  • Build a spaceship out of Legos – put your interplanetary engineering skills to the test and build the perfect rocket out of Legos! Bring it down to the library and we will proudly display in on our shelves for all to see! (All ages, must use own materials. All materials will be returned.)
  • Sci-fi Dioramas – Calling all Trekkies, Whovians, and Star Wars fan! Recreate your favorite scene from your favorite Sci-fi film, show, book, or game in a diorama format. Entries will be displayed in the library through the month of June. The best diorama will receive a prize! (All ages, must use own materials. Dioramas will be returned.)

All Ages Events

Our Summer Reading Program will kick off with a performance from magician Magical Michael at the high school auditorium at 2:00 pm on 6/4.  This is a family event, so bring the whole crew!

We have teamed up with the Wynnewood Historical Society to bring you Oklahomans in Space.  This event program will be held twice on Tuesday 6/11 and Thursday 6/13 at 2:00 pm. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Monday 6/25 we will host an all-day event at the library. Join us for STAR WARS DAY where there will be plenty of activities and crafts for the whole family.

We have two working schedules: one for ages 4 and under, and one for elementary aged children.

To conclude our Summer Reading Program, we’d like to invite everyone to celebrate with us on Thursday 6/27 at 2:00pm. There will be snacks, games, and plenty of photo-ops. It’s going to be out of this world!

There will be plenty of chances to win prizes during the month of June as well!

  • Each child that registers to attend the summer reading program will be entered into a drawing
  • Each child that completes either an activity log (4 and under) or a reading time log (elementary age) will receive a prize
  • There will be prizes given at random to those who participate in various activities
  • Every person who builds a Lego space ship or enters a diorama into the contest will be entered into a drawing for a prize
  • All children who complete the summer reading program will be invited to a Godfather’s Pizza party hosted by our friends at Love’s. The requirements for completion are as follows: fill out registration, activity log/time log, attend three scheduled programs.

We hope to see you there!
